BoltAssist AI — Terms of Service

Version tos-2026-10-26-v5

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern the use of BoltAssist AI ("BoltAssist", "we", "us", or "our"), an AI-powered business receptionist and scheduling service operated from Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

By creating an account, activating a subscription, or using our services, you agree to these Terms on behalf of yourself or the business you represent.

If you have a separate written agreement with BoltAssist, that agreement will prevail where its provisions differ from these Terms.

1. Our Services

BoltAssist provides AI-powered receptionist, communication, scheduling, and related business services.

Features and availability vary by subscription plan. We may update or improve the service over time.

Our AI systems generate automated responses and may occasionally produce inaccurate or incomplete information. You are responsible for reviewing your business settings and ensuring that information provided to customers is accurate.

BoltAssist is not an emergency response service and does not provide medical, legal, financial, or other regulated professional advice.

2. Your Account and Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide accurate account and business information.
  • Maintain the security of your account.
  • Use BoltAssist only for lawful business purposes.
  • Obtain any legally required notices, permissions, and consents for customer communications, including AI-assisted calls, transcription, and messaging.
  • Keep your business information and receptionist settings current.

You must not use BoltAssist for fraudulent, abusive, misleading, unauthorized, or unlawful activities, or attempt to compromise, misuse, copy, or resell our services without authorization.

You remain responsible for your business operations, customer relationships, and services delivered to your customers.

3. Free Experience and Subscriptions

BoltAssist may offer a free, limited evaluation experience. The current BoltAssist Experience provides three days of access and up to 30 minutes of AI receptionist conversation in a web browser, without requiring a payment card.

The free Experience does not automatically convert into a paid subscription.

Paid subscriptions are offered on monthly plans. Applicable features, prices, billing currency, included usage, additional usage rates, and other plan-specific terms are displayed before activation. Your billing currency applies to your subscription and any additional usage, and changes only by arrangement with BoltAssist.

By activating a paid plan, you authorize recurring charges to your selected payment method, including applicable subscription fees, eligible additional usage, and taxes.

Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled.

4. Usage, Payments and Cancellation

Each subscription includes a defined monthly usage allowance. Unused allowances do not carry forward.

Usage is measured from the connected time of eligible calls answered by your AI receptionist. Time after a call is transferred to a person, calls that receive only a message that the business cannot take the call, the free Experience, conversations through your website or booking site, and test sessions are not charged.

Where additional usage is enabled, eligible usage beyond the included allowance may be charged at the rate accepted when you activated or changed your plan, subject to your selected monthly spending limit. Additional usage charges for a billing period never exceed the spending limit in effect at the end of that period, and usage beyond your limit is never charged, even if you later raise it.

You can review your usage and manage your spending limit through your account. Once the applicable usage limit is reached, certain services, including answering new calls, may be temporarily restricted until the limit is adjusted or the next billing period begins. Calls already in progress are not interrupted by the usage limit. While new calls are restricted, calls to your business may go unanswered; you are responsible for choosing a limit suited to your call volume.

Appointment confirmations, reminders, and replies about existing appointments are always sent. Other text messages sent on your behalf are subject to a fair-use limit for each billing period, based on your plan.

Usage and billing are governed by the plan terms accepted at activation. Changes to usage billing do not create retroactive charges for previously unbilled usage.

A valid payment method is required for paid subscriptions. If payment fails or remains outstanding, we may restrict or suspend paid services after providing notice where reasonably practical.

You may cancel your subscription through your account or by contacting us. Cancellation normally takes effect at the end of the current paid billing period.

Fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law. Any valid outstanding charges remain payable.

Plan changes, including applicable prorated charges or credits, are explained before confirmation. Your existing accepted plan terms remain in effect until changed in accordance with those terms.

5. Privacy and Customer Information

Your use of BoltAssist is subject to our Privacy Policy.

You retain ownership of the business and customer information you provide. You authorize BoltAssist and its service providers to process that information as reasonably necessary to deliver, secure, maintain, and support the services.

You are responsible for having the necessary rights, permissions, and lawful authority to provide customer information to BoltAssist.

Both parties will take reasonable measures to protect confidential business information received in connection with the service, subject to applicable law.

6. Service Availability and Changes

We work to provide reliable services but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Temporary interruptions may occur because of maintenance, telecommunications failures, third-party service disruptions, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

We may modify features, pricing, or these Terms from time to time. Material changes affecting existing subscriptions will be communicated in advance where required by law or applicable agreement.

Changes will not create retroactive charges or alter previously accepted commercial terms except as permitted by the applicable agreement and law.

7. Suspension and Termination

We may restrict, suspend, or terminate access where reasonably necessary because of:

  • Non-payment.
  • Material violations of these Terms.
  • Fraudulent, abusive, or unlawful activity.
  • Security threats or legal requirements.

Where reasonably practical, we will provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.

Following termination, applicable outstanding obligations remain in effect, and personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Provisions that by their nature should continue, including those on payment, intellectual property, confidentiality, indemnity, and limitation of liability, continue to apply.

8. Intellectual Property

BoltAssist and its associated software, technology, content, and branding remain the property of BoltAssist or its licensors.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service for your business during your authorized access.

You may not reproduce, redistribute, reverse-engineer, or commercially exploit our proprietary technology except as permitted by law or with our written consent.

9. Liability and Legal Protections

To the extent permitted by applicable law, BoltAssist is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties or conditions not expressly stated in these Terms.

BoltAssist is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including lost profits, revenue, or business opportunities resulting indirectly from use of the service.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, BoltAssist's total liability for claims relating to the service is limited to the fees paid or payable for the service during the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim.

You agree to indemnify BoltAssist against third-party claims and reasonable associated costs arising from your unlawful use of the service, material breach of these Terms, or unauthorized information and instructions you provide, except to the extent caused by BoltAssist.

Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or liabilities that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Governing Law and General Terms

These Terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and applicable federal laws of Canada, subject to mandatory laws that may apply in other jurisdictions.

These Terms, your accepted subscription terms, and any applicable written agreement constitute the agreement governing your use of BoltAssist.

You may not transfer your account or these Terms without our consent; we may transfer them as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. Failure to enforce a provision does not waive it.

We may communicate important account and legal notices through the email address associated with your account.

English and Canadian French versions of these Terms are available, and both versions have the same meaning. Where required by applicable Quebec law, the French version is presented first; if you accept the English version, you confirm that it is your express wish to be bound by the English version.
